Caption | Aqua Azul ‘blue water’ is one of Mexico’s best known natural features. It is a series of broad waterfalls cascading between turquoise pools in a lush jungle setting. The site is about 60km from Palenque and is usually packed with national and foreign tourists. The characteristic blue-coloured water is most commonly observed in April/May; the water can be clouded by silt at other times of the year. When clear it is great for swimming as there are many tranquil pools out of the current. |
