Quantity discounts are available for multiple usage of a single image between mediums &/or multiple images within a single project if the order is made at once.

Discounts will also be offered for educational or charitable (non-profit) organizations.

All requests involving extenuating circumstances shall be considered individually.

THE SITE
The stocksite can be explored following the major category headings or by using the keyword search function. Each image has a list of keywords useful in describing that and other images with similar characteristics and qualities.

When searching the site, use ‘lightbox’ to collect images of interest. Copies of lightbox collections can be emailed to yourself and then forwarded to a third party.

The Lightbox function is the ultimate reference guide between client and photographer and should be used when requesting images as tests ‘for placement only’ (fpo) or as final selections for specified sizes. A copy of any lightbox sent by email from the site also automatically gets sent to the photographer.

STOCK LICENSING AGREEMENTS

All the photographs in this site are the property of the photographer and are rights protected by international copyright law.

A standard, non-exclusive license for the rights to use images on this site are offered for a single-use fee for a specified period of time &/or a specified quantity (print run). All prices quoted in the accompanying Pricing Tables are based on these conditions and are in $US.

Other licenses at progressively higher prices are available as follows:

1. one-time use with industry exclusivity i.e. purchaser intends single use but wishes to restrict competitors in same industry from using the same image during the specified period.
2. one-time use with total exclusivity i.e. purchaser intends single use but wishes to restrict ALL other buyers from using the same image during the specified period of usage.
3. unlimited use with industry exclusivity i.e. purchaser can use the image as often and in as many uses as needed, for a specified period of time. No other competitive use within same industry. Licensing rights to same image permissible outside that industry.
4. unlimited use with total exclusivity i.e. buyer can use the image as often and in as many different uses a they want, for a defined period of time. NO other usage shall be made of that mage during that period.
5. total buyout i.e. Copyright is transferred to the buyer. Buyer owns the photo and can use the image as often and in as many uses as they want, for an indefinite period of time. Photographer rescinds all rights to that image and removes it from his collection.

Fees for the above licensing options are determined by negotiation between photographer and client based on usage details and other criteria such as whether intended for non-profit, editorial or advertising use.

MATERIALS and METHODS

STOCK FILM SOURCE
The majority of the photography on the site is from Velvia 35mm transparency film. Other source material includes medium and large format Fujifilm transparencies and some 35mm negative film (Portra and NPC).

35mm film

4 x 5” film

Digital photography using NIKON 2DX, supplying RAW format files, converted to TIFFs or JPGs as requested. $15 fee for digital manipulation/optimisation of each selected image file.

DIGITISATION and DELIVERY
Usage specifications (format and dimensions) determine the file size required.

A digital scan to US letter (8.5 x 11 inches), (22 x 28 cm), (A4) in RGB mode, in jpeg format @ 300dpi (a file of about 27Mb) is the largest standard size and format immediately available.

All new 35mm scans require a $15 fee, which includes digital corrections for optimum presentation.

Lower resolution files in other formats are also immediately available on demand.

Higher resolution scans to 50Mb are available on request but require a one week turnaround and additional charges.

Delivery of selected image(s), sized and prepared according to usage requirements can be made:
- ftp-style,
- via email (files <10Mb),
- on CD via (International) courier
- with duplicate transparency
or - with the original transparency.

Loss or damage to original material shall incur a nominal $1500 charge to the client for 35mm, $2000 for medium format and $2500 for large format transparencies.

ASSIGNMENTS

Every assignment is different and therefore priced individually according to the resources of the client, their industry, the technical and physical requirements of the shoot and the ultimate purpose of the photography.

ASSIGNMENT OPTIONS:
A. Shared Rights
1. Fee for day rate plus expenses.
2. Photographer retains Copyright
3. Proceeds of shoot available to client for unlimited use for unlimited time.
4. Proceeds of shoot available to photographer for own stock use with the exception that said proceeds will not be licensed to competing clients within same industry where conflict of interest exists.
5. Proceeds of shoot not to be used by client for any purpose other than for the direct promotion of client and client operations. All other usage by any other parties or for any other purpose must be made directly with the copyright holder (photographer).

B. Sole Rights
1. Fee for day rate plus expenses (negotiable).
2. Client obtains all rights and exclusive use. Copyright remains with photographer unless negotiated otherwise.

Fees for shared use of the proceeds of the shoot are much less expensive than fees applicable to situations wherein client demands exclusive (sole) rights to the proceeds of the shoot.
